Is summer almost gone?

I can't believe that it is almost Labor Day and that we've been back in Colorado almost three months! Lots of stuff going on...and lots of nothing.

Ty is trying to kill himself on a daily basis while giving me a heart attack. We had our first trip to the ER after Ty cut his head by falling into a sharp handle on a piece of furniture. He is fine and they sent him home without stitches. He'll only know if it he decides to shave his head later. yikes!

Boulder is a great place to be for the summer. Ty and I have our daily routine of play-walk-my coffee-play-lunch-nap-errands-play-dinner-play-bath-bed. Included in that are throwing things off the deck, trying to eat rotten fruit in the yard (from the fruit trees), stealing my tomatoes from the vines, and barking at the neighborhood dogs.

The foxes have moved on, apparently up into the foothills, but we are now left with the sneaky raccoons. They are jumping on the roof and have pooped on the skylight twice (thankfully a closed skylight). Sorry for the animal lovers out there, but Tim had fun knocking them off the fence with the hose (water from the hose, not the hose).

We are STILL looking for a house. We "lost" a house that we loved, but the listing agent wouldn't take our offer. We were at the house when they accepted another offer, but didn't give us the opportunity to bid. We found out that the listing agent worked both sides of the deal. He didn't want to work with us, because he would have had to share his commission. I think terrible things about him and hope he ends up in real estate hell one day. But, on to more positive things. We are having fun with our agent seeing a wide variety of mid-century modern homes. Some lovely, but just not a fit for us yet. We're crossing our fingers that we find a home soon.

We surprised my parents by showing up in Louisiana two weeks ago. My Dad retired and had his big retirement party. It was a very short trip, but glad we made it.

Mom just came out this weekend...Tim and I went out on a "date" for the first time since Ty was born. We've gone out before, but always to group events, like birthday parties or weddings. So, this was fun. Dinner was over too quick, so we hit the high-end tequila bar for margaritas after.
