Santa has come to Louisiana...Ty has had a full day...lots of toys and lots of people to entertain him. More pictures later, but we are testing out my mom's new Flip...small USB video camera...Ty got the giggles so bad that he would just stop and fall on his face while crawling...so much fun!

Getting ready for Christmas
We've been running the roads and getting ready for Christmas travels. We haven't hit too many parties, but we did go to Tim's office party and we've gone to quite a few lunches.
Ty pretty much destroys the house every day and we put it back together every night. It's getting harder to get him to look at the camera...he is just too into whatever needs to be "conquered".

Ty keeping us on our toes
We just got our computer back again...we seem to be working much better now. I'm sort of beat because Ty has me running all over. He's sort of like a puppy...always at my feet unless I'm laying in the middle of the floor. Let's see...it's been a big few weeks. Ty is up to six teeth; he has no less than three bruises on his face; he almost chipped his tooth in the bathtub the other night; Ty had his first real cold---two nights of not being able to breathe through his noes and sleeping with us; he has his first bout of diaper rash, although it is quickly getting better; he climbed his first stairs today (I wish I had a camera for that); Ty is now eating chicken, so he is officially no longer a vegetarian; Ty seems to have stopped ripping apart magazines and has found the bookshelves...so far, he is only knocking the books on the floor and not actually ripping any books.
What's up with us? We just watched the Bourne Ultimatum...really fun. We love netflix since we never go out to the movies. Yea, we could blame Ty for that, but we really were wine swilling homebodies before Ty, also. I am happy to say that the living room is a bit more free now---we sold the giant plastic baby swing (that happened to be pure temporary magic) on Craigslist this week. I sold it for $5 less than I paid for it. Since Ty is completely uninterested in his toys and playmats, we have moved on to bowls, spoons and the kitchen cabinets.
On the homefront, our appliances and electronic stuff has conspired against us. The fridge, dishwasher, computer and possibly the transmission have staged their own strikes (possibly in solidarity with the Hollywood writers, you ask?)...management (us) has stood firm and not let them deflate our spirits and all seem to be working again...thanks to two Sears repairman and Tim (AKA Mr. Manuel Labor). Oh yea...Ty is helping Tim with the plumbing below...Let's just say some key words---leak, mold, broken garbage disposal, new cabinet floor, mystery cracks in the pipes.
Check out the videos of Ty in the bath a few weeks ago and the new pictures on Flickr.
Helping Tim with the plumbing...that is a whole other story.

Ty waking Dad up in the morning

Ty finding the book he wanted...the Italian dictionary...is he trying to tell us something?

A sort of long video of Ty in the bath...but representative of Ty's nightly bath...sort of out of control and way happy.

Ty at Maverick's
I am without a computer for a week now...so, I'm just jumping on to Tim's laptop at night if he brings it home. Ty turned 9 months old yesterday. How fast does this time fly or what?
In the meantime, here are a few pics. We went out to Mavericks, which is the surf break where the world's big wave surfers compete every year. The waves aren't "going" yet, but we "Bob Hauled" up to the overlook. Apparently, the waves get up to 50 feet...well, that is the documented height. Check out the links at Mavericks Surf , home to the Maverick's Surf Contest.
We were with our friends, Susan and Bob. Susan is taking the picture. "Bob Hauls" are the name of hikes and adventures that Bob has taken Tim on over the years. They usually involve some sort of bushwacking, edge of cliffs, sleeping on cacti, accidentally going on a six hour hike, or hikes of 1000 thirsts. I've only been on one official "Bob Haul", so I guess Ty has now been on his first. Although, it was a mini haul. No real bushwacking and it was really only Bob that got too close to the edge of the cliff.
It was really windy out, so mind the hideous hair. Also, I am wearing Ty in a sling and under a blanket. So, I promise I didn't compromise the golden child's safety.
