Santa has come to Louisiana...Ty has had a full day...lots of toys and lots of people to entertain him. More pictures later, but we are testing out my mom's new Flip...small USB video camera...Ty got the giggles so bad that he would just stop and fall on his face while crawling...so much fun!

Getting ready for Christmas
We've been running the roads and getting ready for Christmas travels. We haven't hit too many parties, but we did go to Tim's office party and we've gone to quite a few lunches.
Ty pretty much destroys the house every day and we put it back together every night. It's getting harder to get him to look at the camera...he is just too into whatever needs to be "conquered".

Ty keeping us on our toes
We just got our computer back again...we seem to be working much better now. I'm sort of beat because Ty has me running all over. He's sort of like a puppy...always at my feet unless I'm laying in the middle of the floor. Let's see...it's been a big few weeks. Ty is up to six teeth; he has no less than three bruises on his face; he almost chipped his tooth in the bathtub the other night; Ty had his first real cold---two nights of not being able to breathe through his noes and sleeping with us; he has his first bout of diaper rash, although it is quickly getting better; he climbed his first stairs today (I wish I had a camera for that); Ty is now eating chicken, so he is officially no longer a vegetarian; Ty seems to have stopped ripping apart magazines and has found the bookshelves...so far, he is only knocking the books on the floor and not actually ripping any books.
What's up with us? We just watched the Bourne Ultimatum...really fun. We love netflix since we never go out to the movies. Yea, we could blame Ty for that, but we really were wine swilling homebodies before Ty, also. I am happy to say that the living room is a bit more free now---we sold the giant plastic baby swing (that happened to be pure temporary magic) on Craigslist this week. I sold it for $5 less than I paid for it. Since Ty is completely uninterested in his toys and playmats, we have moved on to bowls, spoons and the kitchen cabinets.
On the homefront, our appliances and electronic stuff has conspired against us. The fridge, dishwasher, computer and possibly the transmission have staged their own strikes (possibly in solidarity with the Hollywood writers, you ask?)...management (us) has stood firm and not let them deflate our spirits and all seem to be working again...thanks to two Sears repairman and Tim (AKA Mr. Manuel Labor). Oh yea...Ty is helping Tim with the plumbing below...Let's just say some key words---leak, mold, broken garbage disposal, new cabinet floor, mystery cracks in the pipes.
Check out the videos of Ty in the bath a few weeks ago and the new pictures on Flickr.
Helping Tim with the plumbing...that is a whole other story.

Ty waking Dad up in the morning

Ty finding the book he wanted...the Italian dictionary...is he trying to tell us something?

A sort of long video of Ty in the bath...but representative of Ty's nightly bath...sort of out of control and way happy.

Ty at Maverick's
I am without a computer for a week now...so, I'm just jumping on to Tim's laptop at night if he brings it home. Ty turned 9 months old yesterday. How fast does this time fly or what?
In the meantime, here are a few pics. We went out to Mavericks, which is the surf break where the world's big wave surfers compete every year. The waves aren't "going" yet, but we "Bob Hauled" up to the overlook. Apparently, the waves get up to 50 feet...well, that is the documented height. Check out the links at Mavericks Surf , home to the Maverick's Surf Contest.
We were with our friends, Susan and Bob. Susan is taking the picture. "Bob Hauls" are the name of hikes and adventures that Bob has taken Tim on over the years. They usually involve some sort of bushwacking, edge of cliffs, sleeping on cacti, accidentally going on a six hour hike, or hikes of 1000 thirsts. I've only been on one official "Bob Haul", so I guess Ty has now been on his first. Although, it was a mini haul. No real bushwacking and it was really only Bob that got too close to the edge of the cliff.
It was really windy out, so mind the hideous hair. Also, I am wearing Ty in a sling and under a blanket. So, I promise I didn't compromise the golden child's safety.

Old Videos
I'm catching up on our old videos...Check out Ty in his bear outfit. I just like the bear jacket because of the ears on the hood.

Ty on the move
I am finally getting caught up on Ty videos...it's too much like getting film developed. I'm starting with most recent stuff. Remember that I'm no Felini, though...I have no skills.

For the Grandmothers
Yes, I know it has been almost a week since I posted non-cell phone pictures...lots of running around over here. More updates later, but click on the pictures to get to all of the pictures at Flickr from the last week. Yes, he is now the big T...for Trouble that is. Crawling, standing, biting with his sharp little teeth. He understands the word, "No", but just smirks and keeps on trucking. Who does that sound like?

Ty's friend, Sonya
This is Ty's friend, Sonya...she is two weeks older than Ty and the daughter of our friend, Devora. We've been doing a baby "swap" so that we can take turns running errands and working out. It's great...mostly because Sonya is the happiest and easiest baby ever!

Nothing too exciting...
Ty and I seemed busy this week, but I don't exactly know what we did. We drove my friend, Sharon, and her baby, Maya to the airport today. It's always fun loading up two babies in the car.
Ty pretty much refuses to wear hats these days. But, we have him temporarily outsmarted. He hasn't figured out how to take off the hat from a hoodie. I'm sure he'll figure it out next week and then I'll just have to worry about him being cold.
We've had a local tragedy...a tanker hit the Bay Bridge and spilled 58,000 gallons of oil in the Bay. It's affecting every beach in the area (some of our favorite places like Crissy Field) and hurting lots of the wildlife. My friend, Anne, just posted on her blog about it at http://annetics.blogspot.com/2007/11/breaks-my-heart.html
She has some great links to articles and pictures on a google map, also.

Moving & Growing
I totally forgot to post. Ty now has four teeth. He got his top right tooth in first. I was shocked at how big it was. He obviously didn't get his teeth from me...his baby teeth look bigger than mine now! Also, you may notice a few bruises on Ty. He is trying very hard to stand up by holding on to the sharpest possible objects in our house. And, he took a hard wack on our TV table. And, then in bad parent form, I turned my back on Ty while he was sitting on the bed. By the time I saw him launching off of the bed, I couldn't catch him fast enough. I may be forever traumatized, but I'm so thankful that we have a platform bed, which means that we don't have box springs and the bed is sort of lower to the ground.
Now, I have to watch the little guy's every move...he just moves too quickly now!

Catching Up...
We are back in cyberspace! I got my computer back and am back in business. But, I'm trying very hard to limit my amount of online time. It's too easy to procrastinate all of my chores!
I'm not sure what has really happened the last few weeks. Ty is into everything. He especially wants anything with an electric cord and anything electronic. He is my son, after all.
Ty dressed as a "Tyger" for Halloween. Tim and I went as zookeepers (of course). It wasn't much in the way of costumes, but I did get patches and shirts from the San Francisco zoo. Hence, the pictures of goats in Fickr.
